SLUGGING PERCENTAGE (SLG) CORRECTION: The scale for Slugging Percentage (SLG) looks something like this: Poor: .310 Below Average: .360 Average: .410 /- .15 Above Average: .450 Great: .500 Elite: .600 I mistakenly kept the scale for OBP up for SLG! Sorry about that. This is the second video in a five-part comprehensive guide to baseball statistics. I'll update this description as needed, but th...

Переглядів 4,8 тис.2 роки тому
Atlanta Falcons Quarterback Matt Ryan scored a touchdown... until an official review determined he didn't.. Then he got a bit chirpy and was flagged for taunting. But was there another call that the referees missed? There were eight possible ways this could have played out. Even if you take four of them away because of the official review, there were still four ways that the official could have...

I'd love another one of these, but for Australian Football
You said that the bowler can bounce the ball to the batter. My question is, does the bowler have to, or can the bowler try to hit the wicket without doing so?
Bouncing the ball isn't compulsory, but it's preferable as a non-bouncing ball can be much easier for a good batter to hit.
@@cricketexplained8526 Thanks for the information.
That was outstanding. I spent several years in China as an international sports anchor and occasionally had to narrate cricket highlights. No one in our department knew anything about the game, so I took some time to ask some British citizens I knew. This was 15 years ago. Happily I seem to have gotten all of the rules right and made my presentation compelling enough not to insult our Australian, Indian, British, and Pakistani audience.
Explain this to me like I’m 5
Can somebody please tell me ..which team is the yankees of rugby...and like barcelona..and italy futbol version. Thank you
The Rugby Union game isn't playing for me. It says the account has been terminated
2:32 that's one of the most satisfying 2 seamers I've ever seen. Greg Maddux had some diabolical breaking pitches.
This is awesome information. I've always wondered how Cricket is played and this is a great explanation on how it is done. Thank you for this video!
Same bro.😅
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🇺🇸
Argh, I was waiting all video for you to explain the actual pitching techniques! Why the bounce? Is it compulsory? And what's with the bat, did it start as an oar?
Bouncing the ball isn't compulsory, but it's preferable as a non-bouncing ball can be much easier for a good batter to hit. Cricket bats actually used to be narrower, not sure why they got wider.
The bounce makes all the difference and why it is a lot more dynamic than baseball. The play area of the ball is increased by a lot more thus introducing a lot more variables which makes it interesting. Bounce makes it even more difficult for the batter to judge the type of delivery
as a baseball fan....holy shit I'm just gonna keep watching baseball xD
Sweeper?
The fielders aren’t wearing any gloves
That's how it is played like real man
Only the wicket keeper is allowed to wear gloves on the fielding side.
As a Phillies fan the best fastball/changeup pitcher I ever watched was Jamie Moyer because his fastball was topped in the mid to lower 80s in MPH. And then his Changeup was not much slower than that
Pulled this up as I’m watching Major League Rugby rn between New England and Utah. I figured it was time since it looked fun but I never understood it
Great video. Now I need one parsing out what is Australian Rules Football.
@11:40 target 222 mean IND scored 221 only. Then opponent need to score 222 to win.
Can commentators be any more boring?!?!??
Some of the international rivalries can be fierce. India vs Pakistan is often played in a third country and a third country always supplies umpires for those matches.
Vladimir Guerrero would have been amazing at cricket.
Is Anthony Jeselnick the narrator???
All I can say is thank goodness for Walter Camp, who you conveniently left out of your history section. That and how on earth do rugby players keep from being injured constantly?
Yup. Best video in the business.
being new to cricket i'm noticing it's similar to a homerun derby. essentially the batting team wants to score as many runs with the farthest distance.
No distance. Yes. Score as many as possible
Hahaha. 3:07 Angel Hernandez getting one wrong and doing his stupid strike out arm movement.
“US is number one in every sport except for soccer and that’s because we didn’t even try” Michael Scott
Thank you for putting this together.
Who in here after playing and watching cricket since child hood.?
Excellent Explanation. Never knew a thing about Cricket.
They all look the same to me lol
Great video, played backyard cricket growing up in Houston after Little League practice. Love the Stros examples of how baseball defense should be played...a few years ago anyways
Could you recommend a rugby union game that isn't played by chicks? Thank you.
The Only explanation of cricket for an American I've seen.
make so sense
I am coming out. This video made me realize I am a woman! Girl Power!!!
Very good on the whole. One thing that could have been clearer is how overs work: they are delivered alternately from opposite ends of the pitch. And if an odd number of runs are scored (except on the last ball of the over), the bowler will be delivering to a different batsman.
Good video BUT - you left out what I think is the biggest difference between gridiron and rugby . . . BLOCKING! Rugby has no blocking, and what that does to rugby vs gridiron tactics deserves at least a minute of your video. It is significant enough missing that you should re-make this otherwise excellent video and include the no-blocking aspect. I was a guard in high school in USA, then one year I played league in Australia. I kept getting yanked out of games because I couldn't drop my instinct to block for the runner.
Love this and the cricket video. I am getting bored with American football (and maybe even baseball)in my old age
Football is the better sport by far.
A wonderful job in explaining Crickets to the baseball fans. I came to it through a reaction video and loved your work. You could also make a part-2 (if you haven't already, sorry), which explains about the * after the score (I mean who's on strike) and what happens when one batsman is out. Does the other one bat later or not? How the batsmen change between the wickets, how many umpires are there and what their jobs are, etc. When we say that some matches last for days, please explain them that the number of sessions on each day is limited to 3 and they play for 6 hours per day only. You could also make a comparison about the weight of the ball and the bat, length of the pitch, the pace with which the ball comes to the batsmen, as these will matter a lot to the baseball fans. Cheers to you!
I am ready
I dont know any of these games
It would have been helpful to talk about a) the distance from the bowler to the batsman; b) bouncing the ball when bowling; c) spin vs speed in bowling.
Very informative video for a rugby ignoramus, like myself. A couple of quick questions: 1. Is rugby league the same game as you often hear referred to as Australian rules football? 2. In rugby union, if there's no limit to the number of tackles the offenses can receive, then how the hell does possession ever change (other than fumbles) and why would the offense ever punt?
Huge baseball fan. Never understood cricket. I feel like I have a pretty decent starting place thanks to this video. Much appreciated
This game, like Islam, Hindu, and Christer, is a complete fraud...just look, nothing makes sense, only restrictions and endless boring nonsense...
WE BEAT PAKISTAN CRICKET IS THE NEW NATIONAL SPORT RAHHHHH
I still have no idea what the heck is going on….
And you understand baseball?
Actually incredible that you have made me understand cricket in like 2 minutes when I have tried and failed for at least like a decade
The dumbest game ever, and it lasts for days!
Nope. Test match lasts 1-5 days and T20 only 3 hours.
no only test matches last 5 days and that is what makes it great, 5 days different conditions every day, by the 5th day all results possible, the pitch has changed over 5 days and it's basically am excuse to spend 5 days in the summer drinking from 20am to 6pm. Some of the greatest cricket games have lasted 5 days. Watch Australia vs England or India vs Pakistan in a full stadium for 5 days.
